The New England Aquarium, located in Boston, MA, has more than a dozen exhibits featuring marine life from around the world. By recreating the natural habitats, including reefs, pools, and rocky shorelines, Boston’s Aquarium offers visitors an incredible opportunity to view hundreds of species. In addition to the exhibits, Boston’s Aquarium offers Whale Watch excursions, taking visitors 30 miles east of Boston to Stellwagen Bank where they can see whales, dolphins, sea birds, and other marine life. The Giant Ocean Tank (GOT), an impressive 200,000-gallon cylindrical structure, is the centerpiece of the Aquarium. The GOT has an extraordinary man-made reef surrounded by heated Boston Harbor seawater and over 100 species, including sharks, sea turtles, eels, barracudas, and tropical fish. You might even get to see staff divers in the tank as they feed and care for animals and keep the habitat clean. Surrounding the GOT are various pools, which hold penguins, sea lions, and otters. There are also fresh water and northern water galleries, each of which educates visitors on the ecosystems in which the animals thrive.

The Aquarium facility also includes the Harbor View Café, just above the lobby, and the outdoor Plaza Café, where you can enjoy lunch and a view of the Boston Harbor and skyline.
