freedom trailFollow the Freedom Trail on this self-guided walking tour and experience the story of the American Revolution and the many events and people that shaped that era. Along the two and a half mile red-brick walking trail, you’ll be lead to 16 of the most moving and significant historical sites that shaped the history of one of our country’s most turbulent periods. The trail’s unique collection of churches, burial grounds, museums, meeting houses and more are marked by a red line along the sidewalk. Starting at the Boston Common, it takes visitors through downtown Boston, the North End and Charlestown.

See The State House, the Park Street Church and Paul Revere’s home, to name a few. Linger at the site of the Boston Massacre and tour the Granary Burying Ground; both exuding the passion and pain felt by the brave heroes involved in the revolution. Walk the red trail to gain a new perspective on the history and the impact each of these marvels has had on the development of our government. Learn about our nation’s first Patriots who fought for our freedom against the Royal Army. Discover the valor of these early colonists and the stories of their lives, battles and victories. The Freedom Trail is a one-of-a-kind way to see the best of Boston’s historic places and offers people of all ages an enjoyable and educational experience.
