Hail and Farewell at Old Town Trolley Tours of St. Augustine
Lots of comings and goings at Old Town Trolley Tours of St. Augustine. In addition to celebrating their 8th anniversary on August 19, it was also somewhat bittersweet as long-time General Manager Denny Axlen retired. Denny joined the company in 1997 as General Manager of Old Town Trolley Tours of Washington after careers with the Walt Disney Company and Federal Express. In 2001, he took over the St. Augustine operation as General Manager. Denny will be greatly missed. However, St. Augustine is very lucky that they have a wonderful new General Manager in David Chatterton. To Meet Dave, go to Historic Tours of America Board.
Make sure to take a look at our photo album of the event on our St. Augustine Trolley Tours Facebook page. |

Key West Shipwreck Treasures Museum features new displays
The Key West Shipwreck Treasures Museum, in addition to its new name, has recently obtained some wonderful new treasures including a silver bar recovered from the wreck of the Atocha Nuestra Senora de las Maravillas, which was lost in 1656. The wreck was discovered in 1972 and today you can see this amazing bar, even lift it if you can, along with many other new displays. Check out Key West Shipwreck Treasures Museum online.

The Today Show Comes to Key West
Okay, we admit it. We were a bit star struck when Matt Lauer and Al Roker showed up to shoot the Today Show in Key West. We were even more so when they rode the Old Town Trolley to do a bit of shopping. Al Roker even rode the Conch Train to broadcast the weather. We had a great time showing off Key West to both of them and their viewers. As part of the Today Takes a Vacation special series, the show broadcast from Key West on July 28 and really made the Southernmost City shine. If you missed the show, make sure to check out the clips and pictures at our Trolley Tours blog and our Conch Train blog. |

Meet the Moon Jellies at the Key West Aquarium
The Key West Aquarium has a new display about Moon Jellyfish. Along with an informative video, there is also a tank with these amazing animals where you can watch them glide up and down through the water. These exquisite creatures do not have respiratory, excretory, and circulatory systems and use mucus and tentacles to catch their prey. |
