Here are some local tips on the best places to celebrate:
World Golf Village
The World Golf Village is hosting a Fireworks, Dinner, & Movie event on Friday July 5, 2013. The event includes a catered buffet from All-American BBQ, priority seating for the IMAX Movie Man of Steel, and one of the largest fireworks shows in North Florida. Tickets go on sale May 31 for $30 and will sell out quickly.
4th of July Fireworks in St. Augustine
Gather close to the Castillo de San Marcos for a great view of the St. Augustine 4th of July fireworks over the bay. The best viewing point is between the Castillo and the Bridge of Lions. The fireworks start at 9:30pm and include a great soundtrack of patriotic music for gazers to enjoy.
Several restaurants in downtown St. Augustine offer rooftop events for the fireworks celebration. The events include dinner buffets, full bar service, great views of the fireworks, and limited reservations. This is the best way to view the fireworks if you are looking for a quaint, romantic atmosphere. One of the most notable rooftop events is held at the White Room each year.
Top of the Lighthouse
Watch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean and then stay for the fireworks display from the top of the famous St. Augustine Lighthouse. The cost is $40 per person and space is very limited, so make your reservations early. This is a one-of-a-kind experience and offers more romantic ambience.
