Annual Holiday Parade
Key West will be showing its holiday spirit with the annual hometown parade with marching bands, groups and floats. Route proceeds down Truman Avenue to Duval, where it takes a right and continues on to Eaton Street. Some streets will be closed for this event.
Lighted Boat Parade
The 27th annual Schooner Wharf Bar & Galley Lighted Boat Parade will festively illuminate the waters at Key West’s Historic Seaport. The vessels will begin parading at 8 p.m. Early arrivers can stroll and enjoy the magical beauty of the Key West Harbor Walk of Lights, then from 6-8 p.m., catch the children's House of Pan Steel Drum Band of Bahama Village as they perform on the Schooner Wharf stage, followed by more live music by Raven Cooper and Friends.
Frost-free Key West becomes a "wiener wonderland" when about 200 dachshunds and their owners take a noontime New Year's Eve stroll through the island's picturesque downtown. The "wiener walk" begins at noon Sunday, December 31, at the corner of Whitehead and Fleming streets. The route, deliberately kept brief in deference to the dogs' short legs, is to encompass the 400 block of Fleming Street, 500 block of legendary Duval Street and one-block length of Appelrouth Lane.
New Year’s Eve Celebration
Key West is the best place to be to ring in the New Year with our famous versions of the midnight ball drop. From an over-sized conch shell drop on the rooftop of famous Sloppy Joe's, a pirate wench drop from the mast of a schooner in the Historic Seaport, and the fabulous drag queen Sushi drop from a balcony in a red high heel on Duval Street, you are sure to have a memorable night!
