The Forsyth Farmers’ Market

Each Saturday the Forsyth Farmers’ Market opens rain or shine, at the South End of Forsyth Park in Historic Downtown Savannah. A variety of vendors offer a variety of local goods including seasonal produce, eggs, honey, pastured meat, bread, cheese, mushrooms, fresh herbs, vegetable sauces, preserves, coffee beans, heirloom seeds and potted plants. From the very beginning, the FFM has focused on food and food issues which is why it is a producer-only market (meaning all vendors have to be producing at least 75 percent of the products they sell) and allows only food and plant vendors.

Tybee Island Pirate Fest
Swashbucklers of all ages converge on Tybee Island to participate in the Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest, featuring a Buccaneer’s Ball, Pirate Victory Parade, live entertainment, costume contests, children’s activities and the Thieves Market filled with treasures, grog and grub. Warming up for Friday and Saturday night headliners, several bands will keep the crowd moving throughout the afternoons and early evening. Daytime entertainment includes live music, pirate performers, street performers, magicians, puppeteers, weaponry demonstrations and surprises in between. There will be fun for pirates all ages; the littlest pirates can enjoy an entire area devoted to quality family entertainment, while adults can grab a drink, partake in pirate-themed carnival games and shop for fun souvenirs. Activities include bounce houses, live pirate demonstrations, storytellers, face painting and much more. Children can also participate in the costume contest and pirate parade.
