On Saturday October 20th the following stops will be closed until 11:30 am: Stop 3 (Archives), Stop 6 (Air and Space Museum), Stop 22 (American History Museum), Stop 23 (Natural History Museum), Stop 24 (Newseum). There will be delays around Stop 9 (Jefferson Memorial) and Stop 10 (FDR/MLK).
Due to required Conductor training, OTT DC will not begin tours, hotel pickups or shuttle service until 10:00am on November 6th, 7th or 8th. Sales Depots will open as scheduled. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Pershing is not the only notable you should visit at this stop. Other notables include Corporal Ira Hayes who was one of the six men to raise the flag on top of Mt. Suribachi at Iwo Jima, General Henry “Hap” Arnold who was the only person to receive a five star rank in two branches of the service, the Army and Air Force, and Corporal Frank W. Buckles who was the oldest surviving World War I veteran. He died in 2011 at the age of 110.
