San Diego is known for 70 miles of beautiful beaches and mild temperatures. What better way for you to experience the magic than on Old Town Trolley’s La Jolla and San Diego Beaches Day Tripper Tour. Board our colorful Beach Cruiser and be transported to the top of Mt. Soledad, 822 feet above sea level. There, you will be treated to a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of San Diego and the Pacific Ocean. You will disembark the Trolley for about 20 minutes for a spectacular photo opportunity! Then, you will re-board the Trolley and descend into La Jolla, “The Jewel” of San Diego, past the Cove and the famous Children’s Pool and into the heart of the Village where you will step off and spend the afternoon on your own experiencing Paradise by the sea! Your trolley will drop you off 0.6 miles from La Jolla Cove.
Later, the Trolley will pick you up to continue your journey along the coast and through the beach towns of Pacific Beach and Mission Beach. You will pass the surfers at Windansea Beach, the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster at Belmont Park, and the SkyTower at Sea World as you return to Old Town and your starting point. Throughout the tour, you’ll see rocky cliffs and sandy beaches, reefs and tide pools, seals and surfers and lots of happy people enjoying the best that Southern California has to offer.

The world-renown Maritime Museum of San Diego was founded in 1948 by a group of local historians and maritime experts. Here, visitors from around the globe come to walk the decks of the magnificent Star of India, the world’s oldest active sailing ship. The Maritime Museum of San Diego is devoted to exposing all ages to Maritime history and offers both permanent and temporary exhibits throughout the year. The museum is also known for restoring, maintaining and operating historic vessels and has what is considered to be one of the finest collections of historic ships. Included in the collection are the 1898 steam ferry Berkeley, the 1904 steam yacht Medea, the 1914 Pilot and the Californian, which is a replica of a mid 19th century revenue cutter.

Swift or Pilot Boat Bay Tour
Enjoy a 75-minute narrated tour aboard Swift Boat PCF816. Feel the history and power of the twin 12 cylinder Detroit Diesels as you take a behind-the-scenes tour of San Diego Bay’s military history. Tour route heads under Coronado Bay Bridge, Naval Base San Diego, and then Naval Amphibious Base.
Tall Ship Tour
Join the crew in sailing a traditionally rigged tall ship. Passengers will be invited to haul a line, man the helm and watch the crew as they scamper up and down the rigging to set and furl the sails. Listen as the Californian’s crew relates the history of sailing and exploration in San Diego, tales of whaling and sea otter trade, local sea battles, the art of ship’s gunnery, life at sea and more.
