David “Chef”

Valet – CAST member since 2004
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, mostly in Philadelphia, graduated Central high school: then Temple University, College of Education. Majored in History, English, and Psychology. My wife, Mimi, and I celebrated our 47th anniversary in September 2006. We have two sons, Dan & Mike. Our family moved to San Diego in 1974, after a career in sales/management, I decided to switch fields and attended Mesa College in Food Service & Culinary Arts. The highlight of my hospitality career was as a manager of Ida Bailey’s Restaurant and the Palace Bar at the Historic Horton Grand Hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter, where I had several vivid encounters with the resident “ ghost”. My hobby is gourmet cooking, and I have always been interested in San Diego’s History.
